Room for big boys

The younger brother of the yard on the Kagerplassen is the Royal Van Lent Shipyard location Amsterdam. Situated in the western harbour area, this huge, ultramodern dock offers space for yachts up to 160 meters. A respectable size, which has everything to do with the desire to be able to meet customer demand. The Amsterdam yard opened in 2019.

Refit: the yacht comes ‘home’ for a while

In addition to new construction, the Amsterdam yard also works on refits; improving and modernising yachts from the sailing fleet. The owner values Feadship quality, and therefore brings his yacht to our yard for a refit. Quite regularly the craftsmen who built the yacht also take care of the refit; a working method that the customer tends to greatly appreciate.

Experience alongside new knowledge and skills

As part of Van Lent, the shipyard in Amsterdam's western harbour area is characterised by two things: firstly the variety of disciplines working alongside and with each other at one location and, consequently, the mix of rich experience with new knowledge and expertise. As at Kaag, every relevant craftsmanship is represented. From painter to engineer: each has its own modern, fully equipped workshop or office.

Some 450 excellent craftsmen work at the shipyard. The core of the builders consists of a group of permanent employees. Co-makers with niche knowledge and a select group of temporary workers provide valued reinforcement at regular intervals.
