History

In 1949 Feadship, First Export Association of Dutch SHIPbuilders, was founded. A cooperation between three very prominent names in yacht history, which still forms the basis today: Royal De Vries Scheepsbouw, Royal Van Lent Shipyard and De Voogt Naval Architects. Together they have three of the most modern shipyards and a high-tech design and engineering office.

The founding of Feadship reflected a true pioneering spirit of De Vries, Van Lent and De Voogt, and began by exhibiting Dutch ships at the New York Boat Show in 1951, which proved very successful.

Starting in the 1950s

In the mid-1950s, after orders for steel and aluminum ships were pouring in frequently, Feadship decided to stop building wooden ships. In the 1960s both the companies and reputation grew steadily, so that in the 1970s the first ships were built that crossed the ocean under their own power. The average length by then was 30 meters.

Recent history

The 1990s were characterized by an increase in complexity and systems. The average length had already increased to 50 meters. In all these years of experience, Feadship has established a position in the market that is synonymous with perfection. We are the global leader in custom-built motor yachts, constantly at the forefront of innovation, technology and design.
